What I Wore: 8.4.12
I've always wanted glasses, but I have had the (un)fortunate luck to be born with eagle eye vision. I know... poor me, right? Don't worry guys, I haven't let this (dis)ability stop me! Oh no, I'm a fighter. I've been eyeing Warby Parker glasses (no pun intended, unless you chuckled -- in that case, pun totally intended) for over a year now and have successfully blocked out my friends' and family's discouragement. I don't think it's such a weird idea to wear glasses if you don't need them -- they can simply be an accessory for your outfit, just like a scarf or belt. Sure, they serve a utilitarian purpose for people who actually need them, but I love the glasses vibe and want to join in on all the four-eyed fun. I tend to associate fantasy lives and characters with clothing items and accessories, so I've adopted the persona of an artsy, creative gallery owner in these Beckett frames in Aqua Tonic (a limited edition color combo from their Summer Crystal collection). More to come on these in a future post, so keep your eyes peeled. Now, I really want to make more eye/glasses/sight related puns here, but I'm going to spare you. You're welcome! I fully expect some jeers and ridicule for my new goggles, so do tell.... on a scale of 1 to 10... how stupid do I look? ;)

I have glasses and can't stand wearing them! I'm always looking for an excuse/reason to take them off. Glad someone is content with four-eyed fun 8-)

The grass is always greener on the other side, but thankfully I don't have to deal with contacts... YIKES!
DeleteCute!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend has terrible vision and has been giving me shit about my obsession with buying glasses despite my perfect vision. I think you've inspired me to block out that discouragement too. Hey, so long as they have glass in them it's not THAT lame, amiright?
ReplyDeleteexactly!!!!!! go for it.. it's really fun!

ReplyDeletethanks! i love clear glasses -- so neat lookin'!
DeleteLove the whole outfit (glasses included). I feel you in the perfect-vision-but-wanting-glasses department. I even went to get my checked hoping I would need some being a graphic designer, looking at the screen 24/7 - but no, my vision is perfect. I may just follow in your steps!

do it!! it's much better than really needing em :D
DeleteCuuute! I love a good pair of glasses too, but I hate the little marks they leave near my nose. Humph!
ReplyDeletehahah i've just discovered those too
DeleteI always go to the optometrist with my fingers crossed that I will need reading glasses, but alas the eagle eye vision you speak of plagues me as well. :) Whenever my husband gets new glasses I always try everything on and am jealous of whatever he picks out.
ReplyDeletei know how ya feel, I always played with my friends' glasses growing up and wished so much for my own!
DeleteOnly about a 5 ;] haha ^_^
ReplyDelete;) haha
DeleteLOVE the glasses! ive been searching all over for clear frames! i just went to the site and your particular style is sold out. Also, I noticed the crystals arent included in the try at home-- did you just guess which style would suit you? They look great!
ReplyDeleteI just kinda of guessed to see if they would work, thankfully I like em. i also have the huxley (i think that's the one) in the completely clear version. those aren't in the try it at home either but with the clear you have a lot more room for error since they aren't so stark and obvious on the face.
Deletethanks for the reply! appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteno problem! good luck!
Deletehey chelsea! i love all of your hairstyles..but especially this one! i think it is really difficult to find someone with similar hair, but i found a twinsie in you. could you maybe make a post or a video explaining some of your looks, especially this updo? i love it!!
